Nico Critelli is an eagle scout who has soared thru the scouting program which affords many opportunities for service to community and certainly Nico has taken full advantage of that opportunity. He has been involved with the semi annual cleanup of the First Presbyterian Church’s grounds for several years and has volunteered at Save the Sound cleaning and categorizing garbage. He has helped other prospective eagles with their projects helping to create a garden at St. Luke’s Lifeworks, repainting the weight room at Westhill High School, and painting the fire hydrants around the area.

Nico helped create a scenic walkway at First Presbyterian Church, and helped construct a tool shed at the Stamford Nature Center. Nico’s own eagle project was one that grew into a tremendous effort, putting flags on veteran’s graves. What started out as a fairly simple project became quite complicated with the addition of several hundreds of veterans necessitating the organization of a database for the future reference.

The Building with Books program has been a beneficiary of Nico’s efforts where he has been active participant in their community projects. He also raised money for St. Baldrick’s Foundation, a program for helping children with cancer, by shaving his head to contribute to the cause.
